Headcount

How many employees are in your organization, and how are they distributed among managers?

Use the headcount formula to quickly count your staff. Then use conditional formatting to color code branches of your organization with high or low headcounts to easily identify areas that may need restructuring.

Org Chart

Step 1: Apply the Headcount view template to your chart.

– Open the View Templates panel; double-click the Headcount View template

Step 2: Define a conditional format for Low Headcount.

– On the Home menu, select Conditional formatting; Click Add; Define the criteria for Low Headcount (see example below).

– Use the formatting options to set formatting to be applied when condition is satisfied.

Step 3: Define a conditional format for High Headcount.

– In the Conditionally Formatting Properties box, click Add; Define criteria for High Headcount (see example below)

– Use the formatting options to set formatting to be applied when condition is satisfied.

Conditional formatting highlights managers with Low Headcount and High Headcount and is a powerful visual aid for planning structural change.
